Quick answers about installation, data storage, eBay integration, and common workflows.

I'm seeing a download or security warning — is this safe?

Since CardStride Studio is new software, you may see warnings from your browser, Windows, or antivirus software. This is common for new software and doesn't mean the software is unsafe.

Browser download warning:

Some browsers flag new or uncommon downloads. Click “Keep” or “Download anyway” to proceed.

Windows SmartScreen warning:

  1. Click “More info” on the warning dialog
  2. Click “Run anyway”

For the portable zip:

  1. Right-click the downloaded .zip file
  2. Select Properties
  3. Check “Unblock” at the bottom of the General tab
  4. Click Apply, then extract the zip

Antivirus warnings:

Some antivirus software flags new apps. You can add an exception for CardStride Studio or temporarily disable real-time scanning during installation.

Code signing is in progress. Always download only from the official CardStride Studio site.

What platforms does CardStride Studio support?

CardStride Studio is Windows desktop software today. Download the installer from the download page. macOS, web, and mobile apps are not available yet.

Is CardStride Studio new? What should I expect as an early user?

CardStride Studio is new, actively improving early-access commercial software — not a vague beta. It is built by an active eBay card seller and used daily in a real card-selling workflow. Core workflows — eBay listing import, Intake from scans and photos, Detect Cards for grouped flatbed scans, AI Identify, review-before-publish, scheduled price drops and relists, auctions, additional listing photos, and generated corner closeups — are available today.

As an early-access customer, you should expect:

  • Direct founder support. Reach us at support at cardstride dot com or the support page. We read every message.
  • Bug reports and feature ideas are welcome. Use Help → Report an Issue to send a support bundle (logs + diagnostics) with your message, or open Settings & Support → Support for help links. Early feedback directly shapes the roadmap.
  • Steady, frequent improvements. Expect regular updates. Installed builds check for updates automatically, and you can always grab the latest from the download page.
  • Honest scope. The product is useful today, but we are not claiming enterprise polish or every edge case solved yet.

You are using real software with a real trial and subscription — and helping us make it better for card sellers.

Is CardStride Studio free to try? Do I need a credit card?

Downloading and installing CardStride Studio is free. Your trial lasts 14 days or 200 credits, whichever comes first. Free to try — no credit card required.

  • Sign in with your email on the download page to get the Windows installer and start your trial.
  • During the trial you use the real product — including credit-consuming actions like publishing new listings, repricing, and relisting against your real eBay account.
  • After the trial, an active subscription is required to keep using automation that makes updates on eBay (creating listings, updating prices, relisting, and ending listings). Reading and syncing your eBay data into CardStride stays free.
Which selling platforms does CardStride support?

eBay is the marketplace CardStride supports today — importing active listings, publishing Buy It Now and Auction listings, and managing lifecycle actions on eBay. Other marketplaces may be added later, but they are not available in the product now.

How do I create new card listings?

Open Intake from your Card Library. Choose For Sale for new eBay listings, Personal Collection for cards you are not listing, or Split Scans when you have grouped flatbed scans to separate first. Add front and back photos or scans, let CardStride auto-pair fronts and backs, clean up images, run AI Identify for card details, set pricing and shipping, add optional detail photos or corner closeups when needed, review everything, then publish to eBay. For a walkthrough, see Help → Quick Start in the app or the Getting Started guide.

Can CardStride split grouped flatbed scans into individual card images?

Yes. In Split Scans Intake, Detect Cards finds card areas in grouped flatbed scans and separates scan pairs into individual front and back images. You then continue with the normal Intake steps — rotate, crop, deskew, and cleanup. Detection works well on typical flatbed layouts but is not guaranteed to be perfect every time.

Does CardStride identify cards automatically?

CardStride includes AI Identify during For Sale Intake. It suggests details such as player, year, manufacturer, set, card number, and eBay-friendly specifics from your images. You review and confirm every field before publishing — suggestions are helpful but not guaranteed to be perfect. AI Identify uses credits like other listing actions; see the Pricing page for how credits apply.

Does CardStride Studio support auctions?

Yes. CardStride supports both Buy It Now and Auction listings, including scheduled auction starts. Price-drop automation applies to Buy It Now listings; auctions use their own starting bid, duration, and start-time workflow.

Can I use my eBay shipping and payment policies?

Yes. CardStride uses your existing eBay Business Policies when publishing. You can choose the shipping, payment, return, and merchant location settings CardStride should use. CardStride does not create or edit your eBay policies; you manage those in eBay Seller Hub and refresh them in CardStride.

Does CardStride support eBay Standard Envelope and buyer shipping options?

CardStride can publish with your selected eBay Shipping Policy and validates eBay Standard Envelope-style card shipments where supported. Buyer-selectable multi-service shipping policy previews are on the roadmap; for now, the selected eBay Shipping Policy remains the source of truth.

Can I add extra condition photos or corner closeups?

Yes. During For Sale Intake, new listings can include optional additional listing photos after the front and back images. CardStride can also generate square corner closeups from high-resolution front and back photos. You can review, remove, and reorder those photos before publishing. For existing CardStride-managed listings, supported photo changes can be staged and applied through Review Changes or a managed relist. Legacy or imported listings may need to be recreated through CardStride before all photo tools are available.

Do I need to give you my eBay password or credentials?

No — CardStride Studio never asks for your eBay password.

When you connect your eBay account, you sign in directly on eBay's website. eBay grants CardStride Studio limited access to your account — your password is never shared with us or stored by the app.

Where does my data live? How do I back it up?

CardStride Studio is local-first: all your data stays on your PC. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud unless you explicitly export and upload it yourself.

Your data includes:

  • Card images: stored in your configured Card Images Folder (default: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\CardStride Studio\Scans\). Processed outputs and thumbnails live under subfolders here. Generated corner closeups and additional listing photos are stored with your local Card Images library.
  • Library database: a local SQLite file stored alongside your Card Images Folder by default (<Card Images Folder>\db\cards.sqlite).
  • App settings, logs, and backups: stored under %LOCALAPPDATA%\CardStrideStudio\ in installed mode, or next to the executable in portable mode.

Backup tip: Periodically copy your Card Images Folder (which includes db\cards.sqlite) to an external drive or cloud storage. You can also trigger a database backup from Settings & Support → Backups.

How do I get my active eBay listings into CardStride?

Pulling your existing eBay inventory into CardStride lets you manage prices and relists without starting over. Reading and syncing listing data from eBay does not use credits; credits apply when CardStride creates, relists, or updates listings on eBay. See the Pricing page for details.

Step 1: Connect eBay

In the app, open Connect eBayand sign in on eBay's site. CardStride never sees or stores your eBay password.

Step 2: Import Active Listings

Run Import Active Listings to pull your active Buy It Now and Auction listings directly from eBay into your library.

Your listings will appear in the library, ready for lifecycle management (and price drops for Buy It Now listings).
